Kagerou Project centers on the Mekakushi Dan, or Blindfold Organization, a group of teenagers bound by strange eye abilities and drawn into the recurring summer surrounding the incidents of August 14th and 15th. Shintarou Kisaragi is pulled out of his shut-in routine and into a circle that includes his sister Momo, Tsubomi Kido, Shuuya Kano, Kousuke Seto, Mary Kozakura, Takane Enomoto, Haruka Kokonose, and Hibiya Amamiya. What begins as a set of seemingly separate lives slowly converges into a shared mystery, with each member carrying a hidden past and finding loyalties shifting as the bizarre events around them intensify.
Rather than following a single protagonist, Kagerou Project unfolds as an ensemble story about how ordinary school days can give way to supernatural unrest, private grief, and the uneasy bonds that form between people who might never have met otherwise. The narrative moves between everyday moments and character-driven revelations, gradually showing how the Dan’s members are connected to the larger phenomenon behind the cycle and to the threatening presence of Me wo Samasu Hebi. As the mystery deepens, the franchise blends coming-of-age drama, supernatural intrigue, and emotional backstory into a tale built on relationships, tension, and the force that keeps pulling everyone back into the same loop.
