Jitsu wa Watashi wa centers on Asahi Kuromine, a high school boy whose inability to keep secrets turns everyday conversation into a minefield. After school one day, he discovers that Youko Shiragami—the girl he likes—is secretly a vampire. Under her father's strict rules, Youko has to leave school so her family can stay safe, but Asahi refuses to let her disappear from his life and promises to protect her secret. Keeping that promise only makes Asahi's life more chaotic. He is painfully honest, easily flustered, and completely unsuited to hiding the truth, yet he keeps getting pulled into the problems of other supernatural classmates and friends who each have identities of their own to protect. Every new relationship adds another layer of danger, because one careless slip could expose all of them at once. Blending romantic comedy with supernatural chaos, Jitsu wa Watashi wa follows Asahi as he tries to shield his unusual friends, live with the consequences of his own loose tongue, and win Youko's heart without letting the truth escape.
