Hyperdimension Neptunia unfolds in Gamindustri, a fantasy world divided among the four nations of Planeptune, Lastation, Lowee, and Leanbox. Each realm is protected by a goddess known as a CPU—Neptune, Noire, Blanc, and Vert—whose strength depends on Share energy, the faith and support of the people who live under them, making political influence and public trust as important as swords or magic. After years of open conflict over that power, the four CPUs sign a friendship treaty and agree to stop trying to seize Shares by force, hoping that cooperation will bring stability to their realms. Allies such as Histoire and Nepgear help hold that fragile order together in a setting built around fantasy action, rivalry, and game-inspired humor.
Peace, however, is far from secure. Neptune, the lively CPU of Planeptune, would rather lounge around, joke, and play games than take her responsibilities seriously, and her attitude leaves her nation vulnerable as its Shares begin to fall. As she tries to recover her land’s strength with the help of her friends, rival goddesses, and allies from across Gamindustri, the balance between comedy, duty, and competition grows harder to maintain. At the same time, external threats including Magiquone and other enemies emerge that could endanger both the CPUs and the world they protect, turning a dispute over Shares into a broader struggle to keep Gamindustri from falling apart.
