Years ago, the ghosts haunting an old schoolhouse were banished by a certain student, but their hatred never truly disappeared. In Gakkou no Kaidan, that buried past surges back when Satsuki and Keiichirou Miyanoshita, two siblings still grieving the tragic loss of their mother, move to their mother's hometown and transfer to the local school.
The building is old, the rumors surrounding it are worse, and what first sounds like a childish superstition soon becomes a fight for survival when the ghosts prove to be real and begin targeting them. As the eerie incidents pile up, Satsuki and Keiichirou are forced to confront the supernatural threat head-on, joining forces with their newfound friends and relying on the help of their pet cat to keep moving forward. Blending horror, comedy, and urban-legend energy, Gakkou no Kaidan follows the siblings as they face one haunting after another in a place that should never have been left so close to the dead. The franchise builds its tension around the same uneasy mix of fear, absurdity, and friendship, turning the school into a battleground where every rumor may hide a spirit and every corridor may lead to another nightmare.
