Makai Ouji: Devils and Realist

Makai Ouji: Devils and Realist follows seventeen-year-old William Twining, a proud noble who trusts modern science and the dignity of his family line above all else. When he learns that his family has gone bankrupt, he can no longer afford his tuition or the refined lifestyle he has always taken for granted. Searching his manor for anything of value, William uncovers a hidden room and accidentally summons Dantalion, the arrogant Grand Duke of Hell. Dantalion reveals that Lucifer, ruler of Hell, has fallen into a deep slumber. With the throne left without a clear successor, only the human "Elector" can choose a temporary ruler, and that succession struggle is stirring tension among demonkind. William is also told that he is a direct descendant of King Solomon, giving him authority in the underworld, but the stubborn realist refuses to accept the existence of magic or the supernatural. Even so, his disbelief cannot keep him outside the conflict, and as Heaven and Hell edge toward confrontation, he becomes entangled in a power struggle that reaches far beyond his own life.
