Boku no Pico centers on Pico, a bright, feminine boy spending the summer at his grandfather’s Café Bebe. There he meets Tamotsu, a salaryman worn down by routine and the expectations of adult life, and the two are gradually drawn into an intense and unconventional relationship. As their encounters unfold, the OVA moves from quiet summer meetings into a study of desire, affection, and the uneasy boundary between physical attraction and emotional intimacy.
Set largely around the café and the people who drift in and out of it, Boku no Pico turns its provocative premise into a portrait of taboo romance and private longing. Across its three episodes, the story keeps its focus on Pico and Tamotsu, using the small, enclosed setting to sharpen the contrast between Pico’s youthful energy and Tamotsu’s weary adulthood. Rather than building out a broad world, it leans on mood, tension, and the emotional weight of each encounter, making every scene another step in a relationship that is as fraught as it is compelling.
