In Kekkai Sensen, the city once known as New York has become Hellsalem's Lot, a sealed metropolis where supersonic monkeys, vampires, talking fishmen, and all sorts of supernatural monsters live alongside humans. When a gateway between Earth and the Beyond opened three years ago, New Yorkers and beings from the other dimension were trapped together inside an impenetrable bubble. To keep that chaos from spilling outward, Libra, a secret organization of eccentrics and superhumans, polices the city and fights to preserve a fragile order. Leonardo Watch is a young photographer who once lived a normal life with his parents and sister. That changes when he gains the mysterious "All-seeing Eyes of the Gods" at the cost of his sister's eyesight. In search of answers and a way to help her, he travels to Hellsalem's Lot and quickly runs into Libra. Unexpectedly pulled into their ranks, Leo discovers that the city demands more than curiosity and courage, and Kekkai Sensen follows his misadventures in the strangest place on Earth as his ordinary life gives way to the extraordinary alongside his equally strange comrades.
