In Binbougami ga!, Ichiko Sakura seems to have won at life: she is beautiful, brilliant, rich, and blessed with luck that makes every day feel effortless. That fortune draws the attention of Momiji Binboda, a goddess of poverty whose own existence is defined by misfortune, from the perpetual cast on her arm and her flat chest to the box she calls home beneath a bridge. Their collision is anything but gentle, because Momiji arrives with a shocking explanation for Ichiko’s perfect life: she has been unconsciously draining the luck of everyone around her.
Tasked with taking that stolen fortune back before Ichiko leaves the people near her without enough luck to survive, Momiji launches a ridiculous campaign of curses, ambushes, and humiliation. Ichiko refuses to surrender so easily, and with the help of Bobby Statice, a wandering monk, she manages to push back against the poverty goddess. That loss only makes Momiji more determined, bringing Kumagai, her teddy bear familiar, and the masochistic dog god Momoo Inugami into the conflict.
As Ichiko’s quiet routine collapses into daily supernatural battles, Binbougami ga! turns luck, poverty, and divine pride into an escalating war where survival depends on outlasting chaos.
