Ben-To turns the neighborhood supermarket into a nightly battlefield, where half-price bento boxes become the prize in a brutal, ritualized struggle between the Wolves and the Dogs. What looks like an ordinary grocery run quickly turns into a test of speed, stamina, and pride, with every aisle transformed into an arena where the winners go home fed and the losers leave hungry.
The story follows high schooler You Satou, who stumbles into that strange underworld after arriving at one of the discounted sales at exactly the wrong moment. Instead of walking away, he becomes fascinated by the code that governs the fights and by the people who live for them. His introduction to that scene comes through Sen Yarizui, a powerful upperclassman and Wolf who sees potential in him, and Hana Oshiroi, a girl who enjoys watching the brawls; both bring him into the Half-Priced Food Lovers Club. Under Sen's guidance, Satou begins to learn the rules, rivalries, and harsh etiquette that separate the Wolves from the Dogs, while the absurd war over dinner keeps testing his nerve, his pride, and his appetite.
