In Air Gear, Air Trecks—usually shortened to AT—are motorized, futuristic inline skates that have become the latest craze across the nation. Every pair comes with a speed limiter, but a daredevil subculture known as the Storm Riders removes those restrictions and turns AT into the center of underground battles. Teams stake valuable parts and even their emblems, symbols of pride and identity, as they fight for dominance in the streets and the air above them.
Itsuki Minami lives in the middle of that rising culture. A middle school student notorious for street fights, Ikki is a reckless punk who wants to reach heights nobody else can and will break through any obstacle in his way alongside his best friends Kazuma Mikura and Onigiri. His path changes when he discovers a pair of Air Trecks in his house, drawing him deeper into the world tied to riders such as Ringo Noyamano and into clashes where skill, nerve, and ambition define a team’s place. For Ikki, AT opens the first real route toward the desire that drives him above all else: to rule the skies.
