Absolute Duo

Absolute Duo is set in a world where people who can materialize weapons from their souls are known as Blazers, and Kouryou Academy High School exists to push those abilities to their limit through paired combat. Every student must choose a partner, because the academy’s ideal is the Absolute Duo: a pair whose combined strength can surpass what either fighter could achieve alone. Tooru Kokonoe arrives at the school carrying a personal vendetta and a single goal: to gain the power he needs after his sister and friends were killed by a mysterious man. His first day already turns violent when the opening ceremony forces him into a brutal duel against the student standing beside him, with expulsion awaiting the loser. When Tooru’s soul manifests a shield instead of a weapon, his rare and unexpected ability draws the attention of Julie Sigtuna, a foreign student whose path becomes tied to his. Together, they face the academy’s rivalries, dangerous training, and the constant pressure of learning to trust one another in a system where partnership can mean survival. As their bond develops, Absolute Duo keeps the focus on how Blazers fight, adapt, and depend on the person beside them. The series builds its tension around Tooru’s unresolved grief, Julie’s growing role in his life, and the harsh reality of a school that treats combat skill and compatible teamwork as the difference between progress and expulsion.
