Biography
ZARD was a pop band centered around its vocalist and sole constant member, Izumi Sakai. The other members were guitarist Fumihito Machida, bassist Hiroyasu Hoshi, drummer Kousuke Michikura, and keyboardist Kimitaka Ikezawa. ZARD ceased releasing new music following Sakai's death on May 27, 2007. However, they have held several anniversary live shows since then. As of 2023, ZARD is one of the best-selling music artists in Japan.
