Yuzu (ゆず)

Yuzu (ゆず) is a Japanese folk-pop duo from Yokohama, Kanagawa, formed by Yujin Kitagawa and Koji Iwasawa. Active since 1996, the pair emerged from street performances in Yokohama, made their indie debut with 『ゆずの素』 in 1997, and made their major debut with the mini-album 『ゆずマン』 on February 21, 1998. Their music was built around acoustic guitars, close harmonies, and direct songwriting, and later expanded from an acoustic-centered style toward a broader pop-rock sound at the intersection of j-pop and pop rock. Their catalog has been released on Avex Trax. Yuzu has worked across television, commercials, films, and anime-related projects. In anime, the duo performed the Hunter x Hunter ending themes "REASON", "Nagareboshi Kirari (YUZU Version) (流れ星キラリ (ゆずバージョン))", and "Hyouriittai (表裏一体)", and later contributed "Muscat" and "OLA!!" to Crayon Shin-chan.
