Yuuki Hayashi (林ゆうき) is a Japanese composer and music producer from Kyoto, born on December 31, 1980. He is known for score work that blends electronic textures, rhythmic drive, and cinematic emotion across TV drama, animation, and film. For anime audiences, his music is notable for its strong sense of timing and for the way it supports action and emotion without overpowering a scene.
Hayashi's connection to music began through rhythmic gymnastics. In his early years, he was an active member of a men's rhythmic gymnastics team, and while selecting songs to complement performances he became interested in BGM. During university, he taught himself music composition despite not having a formal music background. After graduating, he studied under Hideo Kobayashi, a house techno DJ and electronic music producer, and began producing his first music accompaniments for dance sports. That background gave him an instinctive feel for pacing, movement, and texture, which still shapes his work today.
