Biography

Yoshiaki Fujisawa (藤澤慶昌) (born September 12, 1981 in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan) is a Japanese composer and arranger. He began playing the electone at age four after being influenced by his older brother. Later, while attending university in Kyoto, he played guitar and drums in student bands. Among the formative influences he has cited are Joe Hisaishi's music for 「となりのトトロ」 and John Williams's scores for 「スター・ウォーズ」 and 「インディ・ジョーンズ」. In high school, hearing 「Tank!」 from 「カウボーイ・ビバップ」 also pushed him toward professional music work. After a brief spell at ボンズ as a production assistant and a period creating amateur musicals, he joined SUPA LOVE in 2006 and began his career in earnest, initially on J-pop projects. In 2008, he composed and arranged 「イ〜じゃナイ!?」 for 「BLUE DRAGON 天界の七竜」, his first anime-related work. He first contributed to score production through the orchestration of 「ウルトラマンゼロ THE MOVIE 超決戦!ベリアル銀河帝国」 in 2010, and then wrote his first anime background score for 「電波女と青春男」. Fujisawa moved to Five Eighth in 2012, where he worked on numerous anime soundtracks. He also composed "Marronnier no Hana ga Saku Koro ni (マロニエの花が咲く頃に)", the ending theme of "Marronnier Oukoku no Shichinin no Kishi". In 2024, he left the company to continue as a freelancer.
