YA-KYIM

YA-KYIM was a Japanese girl group formed by childhood friends ALISA, MIKU, and 石川友里恵. The three first appeared as dancers at B BOY PARK in 1999, then worked as members of the performer group PRECOCI from 1999 to 2001. After PRECOCI disbanded, they began activities officially as YA-KYIM in 2002 and returned to the B BOY PARK stage that year. The trio debuted on Victor Entertainment in 2005. Within the J-pop scene, their music blended R&B, pop, dance-oriented production, and hip hop elements, with an emphasis on rhythmic arrangements and smooth harmonies rather than straightforward idol pop. In November 2007, they released a cover of Trey Songz's "Can't Help But Wait." Around the release of "beauty × beauty," they also shifted from early B-girl streetwear to a more adult image. After moving to Real Note in May 2008, they issued "Super☆Looper" as their first release for the label. YA-KYIM also performed "BAKUROCK ~Mirai no Rinkakusen~ (BAKUROCK 〜未来の輪郭線〜)," the ending theme for Bakuman. On 22 November 2012, the group announced on "YA-KYIM.TV" that it would disband because of differences in life direction. After the final concert "YA-YA-YA the final ～YA-KYIM LAST LIVE～" at Shibuya Glad on 22 December, YA-KYIM disbanded on 31 December 2012.
