Watarirouka Hashiritai

Watarirouka Hashiritai was a Japanese J-pop idol group formed in October 2008 as a subgroup of AKB48, with Mayu Watanabe among its members. Produced by Yasushi Akimoto, it grew out of Okashina Sisters, a precursor formed around March 2008. Its name is often translated as “Corridor Running Team.” Under Pony Canyon, the group made its debut on January 28, 2009 with the double A-side single “Hatsukoi Dash / Aoi Mirai.” In 2010, the parallel name Watarirouka Hashiritai 7 was introduced for a radio project, and from 2011 the group's activities were consolidated under that name. The unit also contributed to anime, performing “Kanpeki gu~no ne (完璧ぐ〜のね),” the ED of “Fairy Tail,” and “Kibou Sanmyaku (希望山脈),” the OP of “Crayon Shin-chan.” On November 27, 2013, the group's official site announced both its disbandment and the best album “渡り廊下をゆっくり歩きたい,” which was released on December 25, 2013. Watarirouka Hashiritai ended with a final concert at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo on February 9, 2014.
