Biography

WANDS is a Japanese pop rock and J-pop group formed in September 1991. Known for its strong ties to anime music, the band has had members including Shō Uesugi, Hiroshi Shibasaki, Kōsuke Ōshima, Shin'ya Kimura, Jirō Matsumoto, and Issei Ambo. Signed to EMI Music Japan, WANDS has remained a familiar name in Japan’s anison and pop rock scenes. In February 2025, the group shared the music video for "Shooting star," its ending theme for Case Closed (Detective Conan), the anime’s 72nd ending song, highlighting its continued presence in anime music.
