Tomomi Kahala (華原朋美) is a Japanese pop singer from Tokyo, born on August 17, 1974. Active in J-pop and pop, she became one of the most recognizable female solo artists of the late-1990s J-pop boom through a polished style built on clean, emotional vocals and strong melodies. Her early releases were issued through Orumok Records.
She came to prominence through her collaboration with producer Tetsuya Komuro, a partnership that helped shape her early sound and public image.
