TOKYO GIRLS' STYLE (東京女子流)

TOKYO GIRLS' STYLE (東京女子流) was a Japanese idol group formed in 2010 under Avex Trax. The original lineup was Konishi Ayano, Arai Hitomi, Nakae Yuri, Shoji Mei, and Yamabe Miyu. In its early period, the group built its career through frequent live performances, with tightly synchronized choreography and a performance-first approach to J-pop. Its music centered on J-pop with dance-pop and electro-pop influences, combining clear melodies, layered vocals, and rhythm-driven arrangements. Following the members' rollout in early January 2010, TOKYO GIRLS' STYLE opened its official site on January 6, gave its first live performance at SHIBUYA O-nest on February 7, and released its debut single "キラリ☆" on May 5. After its major-label debut in the 2010s, the group continued to develop its stage image around precise stagecraft. In 2011, TOKYO GIRLS' STYLE released its first album 『鼓動の秘密』. It also performed "Never ever", the ending theme for Fairy Tail, and continued to shape a catalog that bridged mainstream idol pop with club-friendly modern pop. Konishi Ayano announced her retirement from the group and the entertainment industry in December 2015. TOKYO GIRLS' STYLE later announced its dissolution and gave its final performance on March 31, 2026. After the disbandment, Arai Hitomi moved toward solo activity.
