Suitei Shoujo (推定少女) was a Japanese J-pop duo formed in August 2001 by Rino (Nikaido Rino, 二階堂梨乃, born April 9, 1987) and Lissa (Abe Risa, 安倍莉沙, born September 8, 1987). The pair quickly became known in Japan as the "Japanese t.A.T.u" because of their provocative outfits and the tense, attention-grabbing image they projected on stage. The duo disbanded on March 31, 2006. Lissa stopped all of her activities in the entertainment business that same year, while Rino continued as an indie artist and model before later becoming known as Re:NO. In 2012, she joined the all-female metal band Aldious, extending her career from J-pop into Japanese rock and metal. Suitei Shoujo remains remembered as a short-lived but distinctive Japanese pop act whose visual identity made it one of the most talked-about duos of the early 2000s.
