SPLAY, stylized as SPLAY (スプレイ), was a Japanese rock band from Osaka formed in 2000 and signed to Pony Canyon. The group’s lineup included 東俊介, 道本卓行, 向井隆昭 and 園木理人, and its music fit the accessible, guitar-driven side of 2000s Japanese rock.
Active throughout the decade, SPLAY built its identity around straightforward songwriting and a polished presentation that gave the band a clean, direct profile within the wider Japanese rock scene. Its major-label association with Pony Canyon placed SPLAY in a space where broad appeal and tightly produced rock often went hand in hand. The band disbanded in 2008, closing a relatively brief but distinct run.
