SpecialThanks is a Japanese rock band from Aichi Prefecture, formed in 2005 by Misaki. The band began as a girls' three-piece covering Green Day and Hi-STANDARD. Its music combines a bright, melodic pop-punk sound with fast guitar work, memorable choruses, clear vocal lines, and direct songwriting.
After several lineup changes, SpecialThanks released a demo CD in 2007, the single "Great Guitar!!" on July 7, 2008, and the mini album "SEVEN COLORS" in August 2008. That same month, "You say GOOD BYE" was selected for SPACE SHOWER TV's August Power Push, and the band was later chosen for iTunes Japan Sound of 2009.
The group followed with the mini album "SEVEN SHOWERS" in 2009, the limited live album "SEVEN LIVES plus 1" in 2010, and its first full album, "SEVEN LOVERS", in 2011. After further lineup changes, Misaki became the band's guitar vocalist in 2012. SpecialThanks then released "Campanula e.p." that year and "MOVE ON" in 2013.
In 2014, the band issued the split album "ROCK'N'ROLL" with MIX MARKET and released "LOVE GOOD TIME", the opening theme for "Ookami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji". A 15th-anniversary crowdfunding project later led to the digital single "Super Sun" in 2022, and the band returned with the full album "PUNK RECORDS" in 2024.
