Soraru

Soraru (born November 3, 1988) is a Japanese utaite singer, songwriter, sound editor, and mixer from Miyagi Prefecture, Japan, based in Tokyo. He has been active since 2008, when he began posting singing videos on Niconico. In 2015, he expanded to YouTube. Across that period, he built a presence in the online Japanese music scene through VOCALOID-related songs, anime-adjacent music, J-pop, and singer-songwriter material. His work has extended from covers to original releases and collaborative projects. He is known for a low, breathy voice with a slight drawl and husky tone, and he has also mixed and mastered songs for VOCALOID producers and other utaite. Collaboration has been central to his career. He has frequently worked with Mafumafu, ShounenT, Lon, and Komeru. Those collaborations led to units including After the Rain (SoraruxMafumafu), SoraT (そらT), Soralon (そらろん), and Lemoc Raros, the unit formed by Soraru and Komeru and presented with reversed naming and alternate romanization. He is also a member of After the Rain and a co-founder of the virtual YouTuber agency Neo-Porte. As a solo artist, he performed "Gin no Kisei (銀の祈誓)," the ending theme of "Goblin Slayer," and "Tsugihagi no Tsubasa (ツギハギの翼)," the opening theme of "2.5 jigen no Ririsa." In 2026, After the Rain marked its 10th anniversary with the arena tour Spring Summer Autumn Winter and announced a new album and live video release for September. Soraru also announced SORARU Halloween LIVE 2026, a two-day event at Keio Arena Tokyo.
