Skoop On Somebody is a Japanese J-pop group formed in Osaka in 1995. The three original members first worked under the name SKOOP. After sending the demo tape "ACT OF THE FACT", they signed with Sony Records in February 1996, then made their major-label debut in 1997 with the single "No Make de On The Bed". After releasing three albums as SKOOP, they changed their name to Skoop On Somebody in April 2000. Around that time, they also developed the stripped-down street-live format they called Club S.O.S., with KO-HEY using cajón for those performances. The group later released work through SME Records.
In the early 2000s, Skoop On Somebody reached a wider audience with "sha la la" and with "ぼくが地球を救う〜Sounds Of Spirit〜", the theme song for the TBS drama ぼくが地球を救う. That song became the group's first Oricon top-10 single. Their album Save Our Souls included "Two of A Kind", a collaboration with CHEMISTRY, and they also worked with CHEMISTRY on "My Gift to You" for Second to None. In anime, the group performed "Happy People", the ending theme for Bleach.
Vocalist TAKE made a solo debut under his real name, 武田雅治, in 2006. KO-HEY announced a hiatus in 2009 and formally left in 2011, after which the group continued as TAKE and KO-ICHIRO until KO-HEY rejoined in 2021.
