The ROOTLESS was a Japanese rock band from Japan formed in 2009. In its early period, the group performed in live houses and on the street around Tokyo. Its lineup included 井原拓也, Duran, 野畑慎, and 大坪祐介, and its music drew on j-pop, pop rock, and rock. The band was affiliated with LDH and rhythm zone before later moving to Being.
The band made its major debut on October 20, 2010 with "One day," the opening theme for One Piece. The ROOTLESS is also associated with "Niwaka Ame ni mo Makezu," featured in Naruto Shippuden.
On January 1, 2013, the group announced that it had left LDH and rhythm zone effective December 31, 2012, and that 井原拓也 had departed. Duran left on December 3, 2013. On January 10, 2014, the band changed its name to Rootless and joined Being that year. It announced its disbandment on December 28, 2015.
