Rina Aiuchi & U-ka Saegusa is a Japanese pop project formed in 2006 on Giza Studio, bringing together singer Rina Aiuchi and U-ka Saegusa. The duo performed "100 Mono Tobira (100もの扉)", the opening theme for Meitantei Conan, and emerged from the same Giza Studio pop scene as Aiuchi's solo work.
Before this collaboration, Aiuchi had already established a long-running career in Japanese pop. Born on 1980-07-31 in Higashiōsaka-shi, Osaka, Japan, she was a former gal fashion magazine model and began her recording career with Giza Studio after winning the 1999 Super Starlight Contest. She debuted on 2000-03-23 with "Close To Your Heart", later broke through with the Case Closed theme "Koi wa Thrill, Shock, Suspense", and released the albums Be Happy and Power of Words, the latter becoming her best-selling album. Over the course of her career she has appeared under the names Rikako Kakiuchi, Rina Aiuchi, Rika Kakiuchi, and R.
Between 2011 and 2014, Aiuchi stepped away from music to study dog-related licenses and later created the dog brand Bon Bon Copine. She subsequently returned to activity under the name Rika Kakiuchi, later used R, and eventually resumed work again as Rina Aiuchi.
