Quruli

Quruli is a Japanese rock band formed in September 1996 and widely associated with alternative rock and j-rock. Based in Japan, the group has built a reputation for blending indie rock, pop, folk, and experimental elements into songs that stay focused on melody, arrangement, and clear hooks. Its sound has often moved between warm acoustic textures and more expansive electric arrangements, giving the band a flexible identity within Japanese rock. That broad approach has made Quruli a respected name in Japan’s rock scene and a long-running reference for guitar-driven music with detail and range. The band has released music through Victor Entertainment and remains active. In 2026, as Quruli marked its 30th anniversary, it was announced for NHK’s special music programs 'NHK Summer Music Festival' and 'Uta de Aetara', and it also continued to lead its long-running Kyoto Music Expo event, including Suchmos and Hitsujibungaku in the second wave of artists for Kyoto Music Expo 2026.
