Puffy

Puffy, romanized as PUFFY in Japan and known internationally as Puffy AmiYumi, is a Japanese rock duo formed in 1995 and signed to Sony Music Japan. The pair consists of Ami Onuki and Yumi Yoshimura, nicknamed Jane and Sue. After being scouted by Sony-affiliated talent agencies and paired as a duo, they began recording in both Japanese and English across j-rock, j-pop, and pop rock. In Japan they continue to use the name PUFFY, while Puffy AmiYumi has been used internationally to avoid legal naming conflicts with Sean Combs. Their first release, "Asia no Junshin," sold a million records. In 1998, their mainstream success in Japan expanded with the release of the album Jet and the tour that supported it. The duo later released several more full-length albums and has sold 14 million records in Japan. Their anime-related work includes "Kore ga Watashi no Ikiru Michi (これが私の生きる道)" for "ReLIFE", "Sweet Drops" for "Usagi Drop", "Dareka Ga" for "Naruto", and "Song of Origin" for "Pokémon".
