pe'zmoku

pe'zmoku is a Japanese collaborative music project formed in 2007 by the band PE'Z and alternative folk singer suzumoku. The project united two acts with very different backgrounds into a short-lived partnership that first appeared publicly during the encore of PE'Z's annual special live event "EN-MUSUBI" at the end of that year. The project became active in earnest in 2008 and moved into anime-related work, recording the ending theme "Gallop" for Bleach and the ending theme "Ano Kaze ni Notte" for Valkyria Chronicles. Those songs defined pe'zmoku's brief but memorable presence in anime music, where the project stood out as a one-off collaboration rather than a traditional long-running band. What makes pe'zmoku notable is the contrast between its limited activity and the visibility of its theme-song work. By bringing PE'Z together with suzumoku, the project offered a distinctive sound and identity that fit naturally into the anime scene while remaining separate from either act's main career. In March 2009, several concerts were canceled after suzumoku briefly disappeared, and the project was subsequently placed on indefinite hiatus. Even with its short lifespan, pe'zmoku continues to be remembered for its unusual lineup and its contributions to anime theme songs.
