Otome Shinto

Otome Shinto is a Japanese female idol group formed on December 6, 2012. The group is known for its connection to anime music and anison-style idol pop, especially through songs tied to television series and later lineup changes that shaped its activities. Its first single, "Mousou★Koukan Nikki (もうそう★こうかんにっき)", was released on February 20, 2013 and was used as the opening theme song for the TV anime GJ-bu. That early anime tie-in helped define Otome Shinto’s identity as an idol act with a clear presence in the anime music scene. On July 5, 2014, Aoi and Chika graduated from the group, and four new members joined on the same day as part of a new generation of Otome Shinto. The lineup at that point included Yurika Takahashi (高橋 優里花), pink, Leader; Ayame Tajiri (田尻 あやめ), yellow; Mari Aihara (相原まり), blue, Joined July 5, 2014; Mayu Ogata (緒方真優), green, Joined July 5, 2014; Arisa Sonohara (其原有沙), red, Joined July 5, 2014; and Airi Hasegawa (長谷川愛里), white, Joined July 5, 2014. The previous members were Aoi Wakana (葵 わかな), blue, and Chika Arakawa (荒川 ちか), red. Ayame Tajiri and Yurika Takahashi also sang the opening theme for Jinsei. Later, the new generation Otome Shinto performed the Friday ending theme for Ai Tenchi Muyo. The group disbanded on July 3, 2016, leaving behind a brief but notable career in Japanese idol and anime theme song history.
