Nami Tamaki

Nami Tamaki (玉置成実, Tamaki Nami, born June 1, 1988) is a Japanese pop singer from Wakayama, Japan, signed to Sony Music Entertainment Japan. She emerged in the early 2000s after being selected from 5,000 applicants in a Sony Music Japan Audition in 2003, where she sang and danced to Destiny’s Child’s “Survivor,” an early showcase of the high-energy performance style that helped define her career. With a j-pop foundation and a strong dance-focused image, she became known for pairing polished vocals with choreography, a combination that made her stand out in mainstream Japanese pop. Tamaki Nami is also familiar to anime and game fans through commercial tie-ins in the Japanese anime and games industries, which made her a familiar name for listeners who follow anime music and related media. Her work has also extended beyond recording: she performed in a stage musical and appeared in a movie, broadening her profile beyond singles and promotional campaigns. Her musical influences include Britney Spears, Madonna, and Janet Jackson, and that blend of Western pop polish and choreography has remained central to her image. In May 2026, she was again linked to anime music through a music video for the ending theme of Concrete Revolutio TV Anime 2nd Season, reinforcing her long-running connection to anime-related projects.
