Miki Satou (佐藤ミキ)

Miki Satou (佐藤ミキ) is a Japanese singer whose connection to music began in childhood, when she often sang at friends’ birthday parties and discovered how much joy performing could bring her. Encouraged by the praise she received from the people around her, she became increasingly absorbed in singing. Her early curiosity about other countries also shaped her outlook: while still in elementary school, she studied abroad in Australia alone, an experience that made a lasting impression on her later life. In high school, Satou entered the English Department and went to Australia again. During that period, she became fascinated with overseas artists such as Avril Lavigne and Taylor Swift, expanding the musical influences that would later inform her own work. She also formed a band with her friends, serving as both vocalist and bassist. After the group delivered a strong performance and won a gold prize at a local music competition, her distinctive “silky voice” began to draw attention from music industry insiders. At university, Miki Satou continued to balance academic study with music activities, putting considerable effort into her artistic development through lessons, self-training, and lyric study. She was also dispatched to China as a member of the Japan-China Friendship Student Visiting Group, gaining further cross-cultural experience that broadened her perspective. These years helped shape the discipline and dedication that supported her move into professional music. In 2020, Satou officially began her music career under SACRA MUSIC, a Sony Music label. Before her debut, the lyric video for her first original song, “Play the Real,” was published on her YouTube channel in July, and her pre-debut song “A KA SA TA NA” was released digitally in August. Her debut single, “Namonai Hana,” was scheduled for release on 2 December and was chosen as the ending theme song for the anime The Irregular at Magic High School: Visitor Arc, which began in October.
