Mika Nakashima x Hyde is a Japanese collaboration between singer Mika Nakashima and Hyde. Together, they performed "KISS OF DEATH," the opening theme for Darling in the FranXX.
Nakashima was born on February 19, 1983, in Hioki, Japan. She is a Japanese vocalist signed to Sony Music Entertainment Japan, and her work spans ballad, pop, and J-pop. Her career began with the 2001 debut single "STARS," the theme song for Fuji TV’s drama Kizudarake no Love Song. It was followed by singles including "CRESCENT MOON," "ONE SURVIVE," "HELPLESS RAIN," and "WILL." She later worked in the NANA franchise, recording "Hitoiro" for NANA 2 under the name NANA starring MIKA NAKASHIMA, as well as the album THE END. She has also released cover versions of "Amazing Grace," "The Rose," and "What a Wonderful World." In 2026, she returned to anime with "祈り、終われば," the ending theme for Mushoku Tensei III.
Hyde, born 寶井秀人 on 1969-01-29 in Wakayama, Japan, is a Japanese musician active since 1990. He has been the lead vocalist of L'Arc-en-Ciel since 1991. In 2001, he began a solo career under HYDE through HAUNTED RECORDS, before moving to Virgin Music in 2018. He formed VAMPS with K.A.Z in 2008, joined THE LAST ROCKSTARS in 2022, and performs on voice, guitar, and classical guitar.
