Masafumi Takada (高田雅史, born August 2, 1970) is a Japanese composer and sound designer from Inuyama, Aichi, Japan who has worked in video game music since 1996. He received musical training from an early age, worked at Human, and later joined Grasshopper Manufacture after meeting Goichi Suda there. At Grasshopper Manufacture he served as a director and head of sound, and his music became closely associated with the studio through titles including killer7, God Hand, and No More Heroes. His work is marked by electronic textures, rock-driven rhythms, bold melodic writing, and the use of sound design and percussion to build atmosphere and momentum.
After stepping down from his post at Grasshopper Manufacture at the end of 2008, he founded the sound production company Sound Prestige and became its representative; its official website is http://soundprestige.jp/. He joined Tango Gameworks as sound director in 2010 and later co-founded Too Kyo Games. His work also includes the Earth Defense Force series and the Danganronpa series, for which he composed "DANGANRONPA", the opening theme of Danganronpa, and he has worked closely with guitarist and composer Jun Fukuda on a number of projects.
