Biography

Mami Yanagi (柳麻美; born 14 August 1984) is a Japanese singer-songwriter from Kanagawa Prefecture. An audition she took while at a vocational school started her singing career, and her debut was "memories", the ending theme of Namco's Flash visual novel Counter-Strike NEO -WHITE MEMORIES-. She was also working as a drummer at the time, and around 2007 she stopped drumming to focus on singing. Since 2008 she has mainly sung theme songs for games and anime, and she writes, composes and arranges her own music; she also sings PC game themes under the name MAMI. She drew attention as the vocalist of "Moshimo Kono Kabe no Naka ga Ikken no Ie da to Shitara", a track on Linked Horizon's Attack on Titan single "Jiyuu e no Shingeki", and in 2017 she was again a vocalist for Linked Horizon, singing on the 36-show "Shingeki no Kiseki" tour. She also works as a voice trainer and recording director. In anime she sang "Hikari Hanate! (光放て!)", the ending theme of Atri: My Dear Moments.
