Maki Otsuki

Maki Otsuki (大槻真希) is a Japanese singer and solo artist from Echizen, Japan, born on May 11, 1973. Active since 1999, she works in J-pop and anime music and has been associated with Epic Records Japan. Her name is closely tied to One Piece, especially through "Memories," the ending theme that introduced her to a wide anime audience and established her presence in the anison scene. Otsuki's catalog blends J-pop melody with the direct, emotional delivery that suits television anime endings. Alongside "Memories," one of her best-known songs for One Piece is "Run! Run! Run!," and those tracks remain central to how listeners discover and remember her work. In 2026, "Memories" also drew renewed attention in Indonesia, where it topped Japanese-language songs for several weeks and was performed during a secret appearance at a local event. Her profile returned to the headlines in 2025 as well, when a Shanghai performance interruption brought additional international notice to her career.
