Kunihiko Ryo is a Japanese musician and composer from Tokyo, born in 1960. He began piano lessons at the age of five, then stepped away from music for about three years to study medicine and later worked at a Tokyo hospital from 1984 to 1985. After returning to music full time, he built a solo career alongside his soundtrack work, becoming a notable name for listeners interested in Japanese screen music and anime-related composition.
His first solo album, The Gate Of Dreams, was released in 1996, followed by Into the Light in 1998, ONLY HEAVEN KNOWS in 1999, Pan-O-Rama in 2001, and ECHOES in 2004. Ryo is also known for composing soundtracks for DEAD HEAT, Emma, The Twelve Kingdoms, and many other titles, linking his catalog to anime and screen-music searches.
