Biography

Kiyoshi Hikawa (氷川きよし) is a Japanese enka singer who has been active since February 2000. Known first for his enka career, he later expanded into anime-related music and became a familiar name among listeners who follow Japanese vocal music beyond the traditional enka scene. His anisong debut came in October 2017 with the opening theme for Dragon Ball Super. That release marked a notable crossover point in his career, connecting his long-running singing work with one of the most recognizable anime franchises and introducing his voice to a wider anime audience. Hikawa also performed the ending theme for the selection broadcast of the Gegege no Kitarou series, Watashi no Aishita Rekidai Gegege. The song, titled Party of Monsters, was released as a collaboration with Tetsuya Komuro and further reinforced his presence in anime music. After entering hiatus at the end of 2022, Kiyoshi Hikawa returned in April 2024. His career is notable for bridging enka and anisong, with a path that combines a long-established vocal identity, major anime tie-ins, and continued relevance in Japanese popular music.
