KANIKAPILA is a Japanese J-pop seven-member girls band from Kurume, Fukuoka Prefecture. The group was formed in May 2013 when a three-member band of LEONA, YOSHIKA, and AOI joined with a four-member band of MIZUHO, NATSUKO, KANA, and PIPPI. All of the members were junior high school students at the time. Managed by Kitty Entertainment and signed to Epic Records Japan, KANIKAPILA won the grand prize at the 4th SCANDAL Copy Band/Vocalist Contest on December 12, 2013, and released its first mini album, "カニカピラ", on March 2, 2014.
The band made its major debut with the single "イッちゃえ!I LOVE YOU!" on February 25, 2015. Later that year it released "Trouble Maker (トラブルメイカー)", which was used as an ending theme for "Naruto". KANIKAPILA followed with the singles "ノンフィクションガール" and "茜さす風", held its first one-man concert, "STARTLINE－さいしょのいっぽ―", on February 18, 2017, and entered an indefinite hiatus on December 10, 2017.
