Kairi Yagi is a Japanese singer from Hiroshima Prefecture who first drew attention through online cover videos and anime-related performances. She moved to Tokyo at age 15 to pursue her dream of singing, building an early presence on YouTube before expanding into larger projects.
Her profile rose significantly with the April 2021 TV anime Vivy -Fluorite Eye's Song-, where her singing as the title character Vivy was especially well received. That performance helped introduce her to a broader audience and led to the No. 1 position on RecoChoku's newcomer download charts for the first half of 2021.
Since then, Yagi has remained closely associated with anime music and contemporary anime song projects. Her work has been shaped by a vocal style suited to character-driven performances, which has made her a notable name for listeners who follow anison and related collaborations.
In December 2024, she launched the project Kairi Yagi Electric Play with Kiyoshi Fujita of Age on keyboards and Tarou Ichihara on guitar. The unit was announced for the ending theme of Shin Samurai-den Yaiba, further strengthening her connection to anime music and new anime song projects.
