JAMIL is a United States-born music artist whose career developed between his American background and the years he spent in Japan. He moved to Japan for school before deciding to focus on music, a shift that shaped the direction of his work. His collaborations have included Metis, Futoshi of Aqua Timez, Nesian Mystik, Wise of Teriyaki Boyz, and Speech of Arrested Development, reflecting ties across Japanese pop, urban music, and international artists.
He performed "The Rock City Boy," the opening theme for Fairy Tail. JAMIL’s debut album, American Shounen, was released in August 2011 and presented work shaped by his experience in Japan and by a cross-cultural musical outlook.
