Hitsujibungaku (羊文学)

Hitsujibungaku (羊文学) is a Japanese alternative rock band from Tokyo formed in September 2011 by Moeka Shiotsuka and Yurika Kasai. Centered on Shiotsuka's vocals and guitar, the group developed from an early five-member copy band into a trio, and drummer FUKUDAHIROA joined in 2015. Its music combines alternative rock and indie rock with shoegaze, dream pop, and atmospheric pop elements, pairing hushed melodies with dense guitar textures and emotionally charged arrangements. After a venue-only demo in 2013 and a hiatus before resuming activity in 2015, Hitsujibungaku released its first nationally distributed CD, 『トンネルを抜けたら』, in 2017. It followed with the albums 『若者たちへ』 in 2018, 『POWERS』 in 2020, 『our hope』 in 2022, and 『12 hugs (like butterflies)』 in 2023. The band reached a wider audience through anime work, including the opening theme "Hikaru Toki (光るとき)" for The Heike Story, the ending theme "more than words" for Jujutsu Kaisen, the ending theme "Burning" for Oshi no Ko, and the opening and ending themes "Feel" and "mild days" for Silent Witch.
