hide with Spread Beaver

hide with Spread Beaver is a Japanese rock group centered on the solo work of hide (Matsumoto Hideto, 1964–1998), the lead guitarist of X Japan. Outside X Japan, hide explored alternative rock, hard rock, heavy metal, power metal, and progressive touches, alongside melodic hooks and a theatrical visual style. The group’s lineup included CHIROLYN, D.I.E, hide, I.N.A, K.A.Z, KIYOSHI, and 宮脇“JOE”知史. hide was also a co-founder of Zilch, an international project that reflected his interest in crossing Japanese and Western rock influences. His career ended with his death in Tokyo in 1998 at the age of 33. Material associated with hide with Spread Beaver later included "ever free", which was used as the ending theme of Danganronpa.
