Hanatan (花たん)

Hanatan (花たん; born January 18, 1986) is a Japanese utaite, doujin vocalist, and singer. On collaboration albums she often uses the name YURiCa (ユリカ). After developing an interest in singing technique through karaoke, she began posting utaite videos in 2008, starting with malo's "ハジメテノオト" on February 23. She gained wide attention on Nico Nico Douga in 2009 with her cover of doriko's "ロミオとシンデレラ". It reached No. 1 in the site's "歌ってみた" ranking and later surpassed 5 million views in 2020. From there, her work expanded from online covers into solo and doujin releases spanning pop, rock-influenced songs, and ballads. Hanatan made her major-label debut with the album "Flower Drops" on June 29, 2011. The album was produced by doriko and included "笹舟", which was used as the ending theme of the TBS program "教科書にのせたい!". In 2012, she appeared as an original Vocaloid-style character using real-time motion capture at "Voca Nico Night Live Stage". She held her first one-man concert, "'Flower Rail' YURiCa/花たん ShowCase Live", on August 8, 2015. In 2016 she toured Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka, and later appeared at ACG events in China before giving her first concert in South Korea in 2018. After surgery to remove a vocal polyp in January 2020, she announced her VTuber debut on December 10, 2021, and debuted on January 14, 2022. She later performed "Arc-en-ciel (アルカンシェル)" for "Tensei Oujo to Tensai Reijou no Mahou Kakumei" and "Ray of Light" for "Akuyaku Reijou Level 99".
