Biography

Galileo Galilei is a Japanese rock band from Hokkaido, Japan, formed in 2007 and associated with pop and rock. Signed early in their career to SME Records and connected with Sony Music Entertainment Japan, the group built its identity around melodic arrangements, reflective lyrics, and songs that often draw on nature and personal experience. The band first gained wider attention with Parade, released in 2012, and continued to stand out in Japan's rock scene through releases and live activity that led to The Sea and The Darkness Tour in 2016. After that tour, Galileo Galilei went on hiatus before returning to the music scene in 2023 following a six-year break. The current lineup includes Yuuki Ozaki (vocals, guitar, keyboard), Kazuki Ozaki (drums, percussion, backing vocals), Fumito Iwai (guitar, backing vocals), and Masato Okazaki (bass), while former members Hitoshi Sakou and Souhei Funaya helped shape the band's early sound and success. For anime fans, Galileo Galilei has also been chosen for opening themes for Blue Orchestra Season 2 and Kusunoki's Garden of Gods, reinforcing its relevance for listeners searching for anime songs from a Japanese rock act.
