Field of View (フィールド・オブ・ビュー) is a Japanese pop rock band formed in 1994 by vocalist U-ya Asaoka, guitarist Takashi Oda, keyboardist Jun Abe and drummer Takuto Kohashi. The group debuted on February 9, 1994 as view on ZAIN RECORDS, then re-debuted as FIELD OF VIEW on May 15, 1995. After the third single "Last Good-bye," Jun Abe left the band in 1995; from the fifth single "ドキッ," Kenji Niitsu joined as bassist.
The band recorded hits such as "Totsuzen" and "Kimi ga Ita Kara." It also performed anime theme songs, including "DAN DAN Kokoro Hikarete ku," the opening theme of "Dragon Ball," and "Kawaita Sakebi," the opening theme of "Yu-Gi-Oh!"; it also performed theme work for Detective Conan.
In 1998 the group moved to Columbia Records' Being label Beat reC. On May 30, 2001 it adopted the name the FIELD OF VIEW and returned to ZAIN RECORDS. In 2002, Field of View released the single "Melody" and issued "Memorial BEST 〜Gift of Melodies〜" and "VIEW CLIPS 〜Memorial Best〜." After farewell concerts in Tokyo and Osaka in November, the band disbanded in December 2002.
The band reunited for "BEING LEGEND Live Tour 2012" and resumed activities from 2020.
