Field of View (フィールド・オブ・ビュー) was a Japanese rock band formed in 1994 and fronted by vocalist U-ya Asaoka. The original lineup also included guitarist Takashi Oda, keyboardist Jun Abe and drummer Takuto Kohashi, although Jun Abe left the group in 1995 and was replaced by Kenji Niitsu.
The band became known for a melodic, polished rock sound that fit comfortably within the Japanese pop-rock and anison scene of the 1990s. Their music combined memorable hooks, clear vocals and accessible arrangements, which helped them stand out during a period when Japanese rock was becoming increasingly visible through television and anime tie-ins.
Field of View is especially remembered for songs associated with anime, including theme work for Detective Conan and Dragon Ball GT. Those connections helped introduce the group to a wider audience and cemented their place in anime music history.
The band continued until disbanding in December 2002, leaving behind a compact but influential catalog that remains closely associated with 1990s J-rock and classic anime themes.
