Biography
David Sylvian (born 1958) is an English musician, singer, and guitarist best known as the voice of the post-punk band Japan. His work with the group established him as one of the distinctive figures connected to that scene, and it also set the stage for the wide-ranging solo path that followed.
After Japan, Sylvian pursued a long and eclectic solo career that moved beyond the sound of his early band. He became known for collaborations with artists such as Robert Fripp and Ryuichi Sakamoto, showing an approach that has remained open to different creative settings and musical ideas.
