Conton Candy

Conton Candy is a Japanese pop rock band formed in Tokyo on June 19, 2018, in the light music club of Tokyo Metropolitan Musashigaoka High School. The band’s early lineup included vocalist Ririka Yamamoto, and after announcing an indefinite hiatus on June 30, 2020, it resumed activity on March 19, 2021 as a compact three-piece built around Tsumugi on vocals and guitar, Fuuka on bass, and Sayaka on drums. Later that year, Conton Candy released its first EP, "PURE", as a Tower Records exclusive, and on December 24 it placed first in both the artist and song categories of the Eggs annual ranking for 2021. On April 26, 2023, the song "ファジーネーブル" became a TikTok hit and reached No. 1 for two consecutive weeks on Billboard JAPAN’s "JAPAN Heatseekers Songs" and "TikTok Weekly Top 20". It was nominated for the TikTok Trend Awards 2023, and the band performed the song live on TV Asahi’s "ミュージックステーション 2時間SP" on November 10. Conton Candy held its first self-produced split-bill event, "Conton Candy pre. “CHAOS!!!” Vol.1", at Tokyo Spotify O-Crest on August 30, 2024, released its first full album "melt pop" on October 9, and mounted its largest one-man tour, "Conton Candy ONEMAN TOUR 2024 “melt pop”", from November 9 to December 14. In February 2025, the band made its first appearance on "THE FIRST TAKE", performing "ファジーネーブル" in a special arrangement and "Futsuu (普通)", the ending theme for "Sakamoto Days", in a live arrangement. Its anime-related work also includes "Touring", the opening theme for "Shuumatsu Touring", "Rookies", the ending theme for "Medalist", and "Snowdrop (スノウドロップ)" for "Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai"; in 2025 the band shared the music video for the opening song from Touring After the Apocalypse, and in 2026 music videos tied to Medalist Season 2’s opening and ending songs were streamed. On May 20, 2026, Conton Candy released its major first full album "すっぴん".
