Aya Kamiki

Aya Kamiki (上木彩矢) is a Japanese pop and rock singer-songwriter from Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan, born on September 10, 1985. Her music sits within j-pop and rock, and she is known for a strong vocal style that moved between mainstream pop accessibility and harder-edged arrangements. She is 166 cm tall, has blood type B, and currently resides in Osaka, Japan. Kamiki was previously signed to Avex Trax's sub-label Tearbridge Productions and managed by Box Corporation, and she has also been associated with For Life Music. In early 2007, she was one of the winners of the 21st Japan Gold Disc Award's New Artist of the Year, a milestone that highlighted her early rise in the Japanese music scene. In 2011, she announced on her official blog that her album THE FINAL JOURNEY would serve as her own "final journey" under Avex Trax before she returned to the indies market, saying that "rather than stop making music," she wanted to "start making music with a stronger soul."
